"Learn. Code. Network"
RESOURCES WE LOVE
At code club we learn and code using a variety of different ways. Two resources that we use the most are Codewars and Project Euler
(so if you dont already have an account with those websites it’s worth getting one).
Codewars is a website used to practice coding ability with an in built ranking system so users can track their progress. It has a wide array of difficulty levels so it is accessible to people of all skill levels.
Project Euler is an inherently more challenging and incorporates more mathematical problems. We use this website to challenge students most confident in their programming and problem solving abilities.
Learn new concepts, learn to think in code.
"To me programming is more than an important practical art. It is also a gigantic undertaking in the foundations of knowledge."

GUIDANCE WITH THE COMPUTER SCIENCE PROJECT (NEA)
In Year 12, students studying A Level Computer Science will undertake the Non-Exam Assessment (NEA) , in which they are required to design and develop a fully functional piece of software.
This project contributes 20% of a student's final grade for the OCR A Level Computer Science qualification, making it essential that their NEA is completed to the highest possible standard before it is submitted for assessment.
A significant part of this project involves developing software using a real programming language. Many students may find the transition from learning about to writing original code challenging, as they must independently solve problems they encounter throughout the development process and devise creative, efficient, and well-considered solutions.
The club will also provide you with extra time to do your NEA; the nature of this assessment means you will not have a lot of time to complete it, with few dedicated lessons for it within the fortnight. Attending this club, you will be able to work on it with help from the year 13 who have already been marked on their coursework, and other classmates that will be at similar points to you and gain valuable insight into the development process. By drawing on the experience of previous students, members can develop their programming skills, avoid common pitfalls, and approach their own projects with greater confidence.
"The best way to prepare is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written."
Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft
